This groundbreaking 3D printing technology, developed by the MIT Self-Assembly Lab + Swiss Designer Christophe Guberan, will be co-presented at Design Miami by the Patrick Parrish Gallery and swissnex Boston.

The technology is a futuristic manufacturing facility based on Rapid Liquid Printing, a breakthrough 3-D printing technology developed in collaboration with Steelcase, which can rapidly produce objects of almost any size or shape using a robot and a tank of gel.

The space serves as a manufacturing facility in which a robot instantly prints tote bags and art objects inside a glass tank of translucent gel. After printing, each product is removed, cleaned, and put on display.

This exhibit is the first public demonstration of MIT’s rapid liquid printing technology.

Rapid liquid printing can produce large-scale objects out of high-grade materials like rubber, foam, or plastic in a matter of seconds or minutes by “drawing” them in a gel suspension.

Traditional 3-D printing is restricted by slow speeds, scale constraints, and poor material quality, which makes it unreliable as a mainstream manufacturing process. With rapid liquid printing, manufacturing can be reimagined as an artistic experience unlimited by scale or gravity, asking us to rethink design, production, uniformity, and product life-cycles.

Experiments

A strong attraction for the different materials and their intrinsic features has always guided my work as a designer. I have decided to dedicate a few years to research on materials. My intent is to try and rethink the way materials are used, as well as the production processes, using the possibilities made available by the new technologies.

To me, those technologies (Computer Numerical Controlled machines, 3D printers) are an integral part of the creative process. I like the idea of hijacking the use of those complex machines, to turn them into manual experimenting tools. I favor an instinctive approach, working more on hardware than software. The primary aim of my research is to produce knowledge, to generate new aesthetics. When working on a process, I try to explore it in depth, in order to create a rich repertoire of shapes and possibilities. This inventory then nourishes my world as a designer.

Implementation comes only after research, in particular through collaborations with companies, that see potentialities in my work to develop a product.

Design Miami 2017 Unveiling Audi A8L 55

sits at the vanguard of the changing auto industry with its hybrid powertrain assist as standard equipment and a laundry list of production-vehicle firsts.

The biggest design change appears inside the cabin, where Audi’s MMI infotainment system trades its large control knob and best-in-the-business interface for a second touchscreen at the front of the center console.

The fourth-generation A8 will introduce drivers to a truly active suspension, a 48-volt primary electrical system, and—in select markets—Level 3 autonomy by which Audi becomes the first automaker to sanction hands-free, Facebook-’til-your-face-melts driving.

My Passion for cars it’s obvious. Love for speed !

SEXUAL COLOR

Art exhibit Sexual Color by Gabriel Wickbold at No Borders for Design Showroom em Miami

Sexual Color

Photographic exhibition, research laboratory of images and interaction with people, re-reading of famous and sexy bodies. Choose one of these labels (or all at once) and apply on Sexual Color of Gabriel Wickbold, work scheduled to be shown in the second half of 2010, in New York. Pointing his lenses and projecting his pop light on a mixture of materials, organic or inorganic, onto human skin, the young, 25 year old photographer from São Paulo, reaches an unique way of seeing sexuality, covering to strip. He explains: ‘‘The paint is a protection and at the same time revealing. It covers a woman, but in character, reveals itself.’’ To achieve this effect, Brazilian personalities such as Adriane Galisteu, Fernanda Paes Leme, Didi Wagner, Natalia Rodrigues, Fernanda Souza, Adriana Bombom, Barbara Koboldt, and Carla Fiorito, undressed (the majority for the first time) and had their beautiful forms covered with chocolate, gouache, airbrush paint, synthetic hair, coconut vines, sand and makeup, not necessarily in that order. Dismissing stereotypes, Sexual Color reinvents and exports the Brazilian beauty in a format that you have never seen. Check it out and participate.

The project Sexual Colors is his maximum example. In it, women and men have their bodies intertwined in paints and threads in an explosion of colors, lights, transparency and details that reveal a true visual orgasm. For Gabriel, the atmosphere created by his images illustrates an extremely artistic eroticism. ‘‘Sexual Color is work that purely reflects sex art. It portrays everything i would like to perform in a nude photograph. Sexuality involves curiosity. It is no fun if it’s too explicit. Insinuating generates much more sex appeal then merely giving it away.’’

Cher Ami (French for “dear friend”, in the masculine) was a homing pigeon who had been donated by the pigeon fanciers of Britain for use by the U.S. Army Signal Corps in France during World War I and had been trained by American pigeoneers. She helped save about 200 men, even though she was greatly injured. The battalion she helped save was the Lost Battalion of the 77th Division in the Battle of the Argonne, October 1918.

On October 3, 1918, Major Charles White Whittlesey and more than 500 men were trapped in a small depression on the side of the hill behind enemy lines without food or ammunition. They were also beginning to receive friendly fire from allied troops who did not know their location. Surrounded by the Germans, many were killed and wounded in the first day and by the second day, just over 190[verification needed] men were still alive. Whittlesey dispatched messages by pigeon.[2] The pigeon carrying the first message, “Many wounded. We cannot evacuate.” was shot down. A second bird was sent with the message, “Men are suffering. Can support be sent?” That pigeon also was shot down. Only one homing pigeon was left: “Cher Ami”. She was dispatched with a note in a canister on her left leg,
We are along the road paralell to 276.4. Our own artillery is dropping a barrage directly on us. For heavens sake stop it.

As Cher Ami tried to fly back home, the Germans saw her rising out of the brush and opened fire. For several moments, Cher Ami flew with bullets zipping through the air all around her.Cher Ami was eventually shot down but managed to take flight again. She arrived back at her loft at division headquarters 25 miles (40 km) to the rear in just 25 minutes, helping to save the lives of the 194 survivors. In this last mission, Cher Ami delivered the message despite having been shot through the breast, blinded in one eye, covered in blood and with a leg hanging only by a tendon.

Cher Ami became the hero of the 77th Infantry Division. Army medics worked long and hard to save her life. They were unable to save her leg, so they carved a small wooden one for her. When she recovered enough to travel, the now one-legged bird was put on a boat to the United States, with General John J. Pershing personally seeing Cher Ami off as she departed France.

Awards

Upon return to the United States, Cher Ami became the mascot of the Department of Service [verification needed]. The pigeon was awarded the Croix de Guerre Medal with a palm Oak Leaf Cluster for her heroic service in delivering 12 important messages in Verdun. She died at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, on June 13, 1919 from the wounds she received in battle and was later inducted into the Racing Pigeon Hall of Fame in 1931. She also received a gold medal from the Organized Bodies of American Racing Pigeon Fanciers in recognition of her extraordinary service during World War I.

Not all those who wander are LOST!

The most important thing in LIFE is to get to know oneself —

In search of the Oneself. It’s a funny concept, isn’t it? How does one find oneself when physically you have never left yourself?
Or have you, but just haven’t noticed? Maybe you are one of the lucky few that doesn’t need to spend your life searching for what makes you you.
I meant the Real YOU! Not the one that people expect you to BE.

The only way to find yourself  to find out what you are made of and what really makes your heart tick  is to let go of everything.

Hopefully you will be willing to do it on your own.

Undress of everything including people. A Self cleanser.

We can stay home alone instead of going out to meet up with friends for drinks. We don’t need to meet up with our boyfriends, girlfriends, lovers, mistresses, booty-calls, f*ck-buddies or hookers. We don’t need to watch TV, watch movies, read, exercise, clean or anything else. In order for us to meet ourselves we must cut out all that is in excess of life itself. Curious huh?

Definition of Karmic Connection:

When you meet someone you have a karmic connection with, a spark of recognition ignites in your soul.

You’ll feel a haunting familiarity, a sense of having come home, a longing for something not quite remembered.

You feel a deep, spiritual connection to this person almost like you have known them for a long time.

You have flashbacks or deja vu moments where you feel that you have been together before.

You seem to understand each other and have a similar way of thinking.

You may have similar flaws or habits, or you both had similar challenges during childhood.

Your connection is intense and so too is the relationship. Often it can move from extreme highs to extreme lows.

You feel in sync with each other even when you are not physically together. There may be a feeling of having to team up together to conquer something.

You know intuitively what the other is thinking or feeling. You feel very in-tune and connected with their thoughts and actions.

Your relationship is emotional, challenging and can bring things out in you that you didn’t know existed.

You may experience huge shifts and changes in your life when you first meet this person.

Your relationship may not last forever but the love is always there.
