Embraer 1000E Hollywood Airship

For many, private jet ownership is an opportunity to flaunt their individuality. This is especially true in the rarefied airspace of the ultra-large executive jet. As the biggest and the baddest private jets flying, owners of these converted airliners want to make their mega-dollar planes stand out from the crowd.
This brings us to Embraer.

The Brazilian jet maker has long been a fan of highly stylized theme interiors. Last summer, Embraer introduced the far east-inspired Kyoto Airship and its stunning skylights. Later in the year, the company rolled out the Brazilian Rancher-meets-Texas-oil-tycoon themed the Skyranch One.

In its latest effort, Embraer offers its take on the glamour of Tinseltown in the 1930s with the Hollywood Airship.

“The Hollywood is steeped in MGM style, with a nod to film greats of the black and white movie era.,” the company wrote in its press kit. “Embraer pushes the design envelope in private aviation with the introduction of a chic shuttle aircraft that celebrates the beauty and affluence of the past while embracing the advanced technology of the future.”

Due to the highly bespoke nature of the business, Embraer’s customers can choose to adopt the whole package or simply a few select elements of the concept.

Here’s a closer look at the Embraer Lineage 1000E Hollywood Airship.

The Hollywood Airship interior is designed for Embraer’s flagship Lineage 1000E executive jet.

The 1000E has room for 13 to 19 passengers, with a range of nearly 5,300 miles. It’s based on the company’s E190 airliner.

Formal dining for six is available in the VIP Crystal Room near the back of the plane.

So how much does all of this art deco fabulousness cost?

A new Embraer Lineage 1000E can be had for $53 million.

But for an additional $30 million, your Lineage can shine brighter than Hollywood’s biggest stars.

A winding driveway leads to a circular motor court, fountain and space for 100 cars. The entry’s double staircase with dramatic 30-foot ceilings is reminiscent of Old Hollywood. Italian limestone enwraps the sumptuous living spaces. In addition to 7 BR suites and 7 staff bedrooms, there is a grand formal living room, projection room, bar, family room, library, office, service wing, billiards room, game room, two lane bowling alley, wine cellar and tasting room, catering kitchen, gym and a fully equipped beauty salon including masseuse and tanning rooms. The current owners spared no expense in 2011 to renovate and update the estate. This is a rare property, and beckons a discerning buyer.

Early life

Sassoon was born to Jewish parents in London. His father was from Salonica (Thessaloniki in Greece), and his mother, whose family was originally from Kiev, was born in London. Although too young to serve in the Second World War, Sassoon became a member of the 43 Group, a Jewish veterans’ militia organisation that broke up Fascist meetings in East London after the end of the war. In 1948 he joined the Israeli Defence Forces to fight in the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.

Influence in hairstyling

Sassoon’s works include the geometric, the wash-and-wear perm, and the “Nancy Kwan.” They were all modern and low-maintenance. The hairstyles created by Sassoon relied on dark, straight, and shiny hair cut into geometric yet organic shapes. In 1963, Sassoon created a short, angular hairstyle cut on a horizontal plane that was the recreation of the classic “bob cut.” His geometric haircuts seemed to be severely cut, but were entirely lacquerfree, relying on the natural shine of the hair for effect. Sassoon is a father of modernist style and has also been a key force in the commercial direction of hair styling, turning its craft in to a multi-million dollar industry.

CHANEL  X  IGOR

CHANEL

Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky premiered at the Cannes Festival with some disappointing reviews.

There are two Coco Chanel biographies released this year. Coco avant Chanel stars Audrey Tautou (Amelie) as the leading lady and the movie is released later this year. Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky (starring Anna Mouglasis as Coco and Mads Mikkelsen as Igor) shows only a small part of Coco’s life and focuses on her relationship with the Russian composer.

Coco Chanel was a very independent woman for her time. After her lover called Boy (Anatole Taubman) was killed in a car accident, she decided to live alone in her huge mansion, interiors designed by herself. The actual Chanel mansion is used in filming the scenes. Coco is a fan of music and an admirer of everything brave. When she witnesses the almost riot that follows the “scandalous” premiere of Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, she wants to get to know the composer.

Stravinsky lives with his wife (Yelena Morozova) who is sufferfing of tuberculosis and children in a small flat and Coco invites them all to live in her mansion – allowing Igor a possibility to more space for his musical creativity. Coco and Igor are drawn to each other and finally end up having an affair.

athina-e-doda

Doda Miranda and Onassis were married on December 3, 2005, after which it is believed that she assumed a hybrid version of the Onassis and Miranda names, thus apparently dropping the Roussel name. The bride’s father and stepmother were not at the ceremony, though her half-sister Sandrine Roussel was invited.

Some anecdotes of the wedding refer to the consumption of 1000 bottles of champagne (around one per person). Most witnesses were Brazilian horse-riders. Athina and Doda decided not to publish photos of the wedding (as they were going to do) after a television report some days before the wedding about the death of Athina’s mother. The couple reportedly asked for no presents and asked their guests to donate the money intended for presents to charity.

Doda Miranda  and Onassis has one stepchild, Viviane de Miranda e Dorsa.

More recently, Miranda and Onassis  has been trying to reach out to the Greek trustees of the Alexander S. Onassis Foundation in her bid to become President of the Foundation. She has expressed an interest in learning Greek and has renewed her Greek passport. She also hopes to be on the Greek equestrian team at the next Olympics.

Their plans were to stay in São Paulo, which caused Nelson Pessoa, the captain of the Brazilian Equestrian Team, to regret publicly that Doda Miranda has forsaken his international career, and (informally) call upon the shipping heiress’s influence on him, to persuade her then-fiancé to return to Europe and compete there. Lately, as her interest in competing in the 2008 Summer Olympics grew, the couple announced that they would return to Belgium to train following their honeymoon.

The Miranda”s have since been training with Nelson Pessoa in Belgium, where they have many horses and where Doda Miranda’s daughter, Viviane, is enrolled in a private school in Brussels.

BEZERRA DE MENEZES

lar_foto_bezerra

Adolfo Bezerra de Menezes Cavalcanti was born in the old neighborhood of Freguesia do Riacho de Sangue (Stream of Blood), today Solonopole, in Ceara, Brazil, on August 29.

In the year of 1838, Adolfo Bezerra de Menezes Cavalcanti, started studying at the public school of the Friar’s Villa, where in only ten months he sufficiently prepared himself to reach the degree of knowledge of his master, who was responsible to guide his first educational phase. At a very early age, he revealed to be extremely intelligent. When he was eleven years old, he was able to commence the course on Humanities. At thirteen, he knew Latin so well that he not only gave classes to his colleagues, but also was called to replace his teacher every time he had to be absent.

His father, Antonio Bezerra de Menezes, was captain of the old militias and lieutenant – colonel of the National Guard; he was a stern man, extremely honest and of irreproachable character. His wealth was derived from his cattle’s farm. He spent large sums of money in politics and in the assistance of friends and relatives, because of his good-natured heart. Those people, however, only looked for him in order to exploit his charitable feelings, and he ended up compromising his fortune. Upon realizing that his debts equaled his possessions, he expressed to his creditors his intention of giving them everything that he owned, in order to pay off the debt. The creditors, being his friend, refused to accept such a proposal, replying that he could pay them when and how he wanted.

In spite of the insistence of the elderly honest man, his creditors didn’t change their minds. Mr. Antonio Bezerra de Menezes proposed them to remain as the administrator of what one-day was his fortune, only using from it the strictly necessary for the maintenance of his family, who changed from a previous comfortable condition to a life of privations.

Encouraged by the firm purpose of being guided by his father’s honest character, Bezerra de Menezes, with a reduced amount of money, given to him by his relatives, was taken by the firm purpose of overcoming all obstacles and headed to Rio de Janeiro in order to follow the career that his vocation inspired him to pursue: Medicine.
