“If you just do something, then you’re a five-year wonder and, goodbye, you’re gone. But if people feel it’s worthwhile, not only do they copy but they want to learn how to do it… To me, that’s what it’s all about. If someone were to ask me, ‘What’s the number one thing, in essence, that you left behind?’ It was the teaching of others so that they could take my work and take it further.” – Vidal Sassoon via Vidal Sassoon The Movie

Social Media has brought the awareness the kidnapping of 230 girls in North East Nigeria on April 16, 2014 .
The girls are between the ages of 12 & 17 years old. They were abducted from their boarding school in Chibok, Nigeria.

The girls were relaxing in their dorms at the Government Girls Secondary School in the northern Nigerian town of Chibok when gunmen arrived in trucks, cars and on motorcycles.

“If it had happened anywhere else, this would be the world’s biggest story,” said CNN’s Frida Ghitis.

SeaFair is the world’s first mobile megayacht venue and one of the ten largest privately owned yacht in the United States. Groundbreaking in scale, ingenuity and style, the yacht – which remains dockside during each event – pairs international fine art, jewelry and collectables with harbor view dining and special events in cities along the eastern seaboard.

20140507-113614.jpg
The $40M purpose built yacht was designed by internationally acclaimed yacht designer Luiz De Basto. At 228 feet and 2800 international tons, it is the largest ship built for commercial operation in the Intracoastal Waterway and requires a draft of only 6.5 feet allowing it to dock at small yacht facilities in central city locations rather than use commercial ports.

The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is a broad-based coalition, housed at the Breast Cancer Fund, working to clean up the beauty aisle through public advocacy and market campaigns designed to eliminate dangerous chemicals linked to cancer, reproductive harm and other adverse health impacts from cosmetics and personal care products.

Since the Campaign was launched in 2004, we have educated millions of people about the problem of toxic chemicals in cosmetics, which has markedly increased demand for safer products. Now hundreds of companies fully disclose ingredients and avoid the use of cancer-causing chemicals, reproductive toxicants and other unsafe chemicals, demonstrating these practices are not only possible, but profitable.

The Campaign’s steering committee is made up of the Breast Cancer Fund, the Alliance for a Healthy Tomorrow (represented by Clean Water Action), Friends of the Earth, and Women’s Voices for the Earth.

This is Trancoso !
Trancoso is a town in the municipality of Porto Seguro in the state of Bahia, Brazil.
The region was the landing point of the Portuguese explorer, Pedro Alvares Cabral onto Brazil, on April 21, 1500.
It was founded by Jesuit Priests on 1583, with the name SĂŁo JoĂŁo Baptista dos Indios.

Shaped as a rectangle, the village retains the original style of its housing architecture.
It is famous for its beaches, such as Praia dos Nativos, Praia dos Coqueiros and Praia do Espelho.
In recent years the location has been developed by the hotel industry, including the French Club Mediterranée, which has boosted real estate value.

It was another picture-perfect day in Trancoso, a former fishing village that has turned into a super-trendy getaway for Brazilians and fashionable jet-setters willing to pay St.-Tropez prices for rustic accommodations on an unspoiled beach.

Just sitting here exchanging some energy with nature!

20140207-090402.jpg
One of the biggest trees I ever seen in my life it was imposing, I just felt like sitting there and imagined all the centuries that went by. So beautiful, so powerful. Majestic !

Early years

The castle stands on the site of an earlier house, which was built on the foundations of the medieval palace of the Bishops of Winchester, who owned this estate from the 8th century.
The original site was recorded in the Domesday Book. Since 1679, the castle has been home to the Carnarvon family.

In 1692, Robert Sawyer, a lawyer and college friend of Samuel Pepys, bequeathed a mansion at Highclere to his only daughter, Margaret, the first wife of the 8th Earl of Pembroke.
Their second son, Robert Sawyer Herbert, inherited Highclere, began its picture collection and created the garden temples.
His nephew and heir Henry Herbert was created Baron Porchester and 1st Earl of Carnarvon by George III.

Sitting on the grounds relax time .

As of late 2012, the Earl and Lady Carnarvon have stated that a dramatic increase in the number of paying visitors has allowed them to begin major repairs both on Highclere’s turrets and its interior.
The family attributes this increase in interest to the on-site filming of Downton Abbey.

The family now live in Highclere during the winter months, but return to their cottage in the summer, when the castle is open to the public.
