Haring Miami will celebrate the extraordinary contributions to the art world by renowned artist Keith Haring and friends. This first of its kind exhibit will take place March 6th-10th 2013 in Miami’s own architectural gem, The Moore Building. The museum-level collection will feature over 200 pieces from Haring’s prolific career.
Keith Haring is one of the most well-known and iconic artists of the… 20th century.
By hieroglyphically expressing concepts of death, birth, war, and sex, his imagery has become one of the most widely recognized visual languages of the 20th century.
This exhibition will provide viewers with an unparalleled exposure to this master on a scale unavailable outside of the major museums of the world encompassing more than 200 works.
The Moore Building is the perfect location for such an exhibition due to its location in the heart of Miami’s famed Design District. It has been host to many top events including Dali Miami 2012; a world class collection of Salvador Dali.
This historic venue was built in 1921 and is one of the most iconic spaces in all of Miami. This truly unique building boasts four floors of arcaded spaces, totaling more than 28,000 square feet and featuring a sculptural element created by architect Zaha Hadid which adorns the center of the building.

Adams was born in Edmonton, Alberta to a Canadian mother and a U.S. Air Force father (who once played minor league baseball) and was raised Roman Catholic. As a child, Adams moved to Burbank, California where, as a teen, she competed in and won beauty contests before becoming an actress. During her career, Adams appeared in various guest roles in television series of the 1960s. She also appeared in several films, most notably as the klutzy, redheaded Cassandra in How to Stuff a Wild Bikini and the recurring role of Lovey Kravezit in the Matt Helm movies starring Dean Martin.
After marrying hairstylist Vidal Sassoon in 1966, Adams retired from acting to raise the couple’s four children. During her retirement from acting, Adams (going by her married name of Beverly Sassoon) published several books and served as a spokeswoman for Vidal Sassoon, Inc. In 1980, the couple divorced and Adams returned to acting. She also launched her own line of pet care products, Beverly Sassoon Pet Care System.

Vidal Sassoon Memorial Evening hosted by Behind The Chair Magazine
11 October 2012
Behind the Chair Magazine hosts a memorial event in honour of Vidal Sassoon, prior to the memorial service at St Paul’s Cathedral on the 12th October 2012.
Featuring iconic shots of Vidal Sassoon throughout his career, as well as pictures of Behind The Chair Magazine’s Vidal Sassoon issue, shot by Anthony Mascolo in 2010.
Tony Rizzo has announced that there will be a special tribute to Vidal Sassoon at the 2012 Alternative Hair Show.
Following the sad loss of Vidal Sassoon – who amongst his many other accolades also took the role of Worldwide Honorary Patron of the Alternative Hair Show – it has been announced that there will be a special tribute presentation to the ultimate hairdressing icon during this year’s event.
The theme for the 2012 show is, appropriately, Legends, and this year also sees Alternative Hair celebrate its 30th anniversary.
The 2012 Alternative Hair Show will take place on the evening of Sunday 14 October at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
A great new haircut can undoubtedly revolutionise your life, so the Vidal Sassoon exhibition at Somerset House isn’t quite as grandiosely titled as it might at first appear. And Sassoon, who died in May, really did make a difference. Photography, artwork and film trace a trajectory from childhood adversity to a CBE for services to British hairdressing. Sassoon was responsible for the seismic ’60s shift that saw the sharp, geometric bob give the elbow to soft ’50s fluff – and in the process, freed women from the tedious nightly ritual of putting rollers in. The precision of Sassoon’s helmet-head style didn’t suit everyone who embraced it, but it definitely looked fab on that other seminal ’60s figure, fashion designer Mary Quant, and was exactly right with the clean lines of her clothes. Together, Quant and Sassoon defined a fashion moment.
